Good morning. Again this morning the Gospel has Jesus being hounded by the Jewish leaders, they question His divinity and He cleverly puts them off the trail by quoting from Psalm 82. As always Jesus was well versed in the scripture and ready for His critics. He knew that the Scriptures fully supported His use of the title ‘Son of God.’ Jesus is very clear about who He is. He has no uncertainty regarding who He is and what He was sent here by God the Father to do. There was no reluctance on His part to proclaim who He was, even knowing full well what the end result would be. In fact, in just a few days we will be recalling by word and deed His crucifixion. So too, as parents it is important to be certain about who and what our mission is. Too often parents out of reluctance of inviting the ire or disappointment of their children tend to fail in being clear about their role as parents. Sometimes parents want to be both parent and buddy to their child. Parents at times are reluctant to be clear about rules and at times tend to be permissive and indulgent because they don’t want their child to be angry with them or to withdraw their love. Like Jesus, who was very clear about His calling despite knowing what lay ahead, as parents we must in a warm, caring, and respectful manner be very clear about our roles, and we must provide for our children clear limits and controls. As we all look to Our Savior for His guidance and support, so too our children look to us and expect that we are clear about our roles as parents. Heavenly Father, help us to live as the Holy Family, united in respect and love, and provide us the Grace to be firm in our role as parents. We ask this as we ask for all things in Jesus’ name. Amen. Make a great day!
Today we recall the good life, gifts, and works of Blessed Cesar de Bus.
