Feast of Saint Joseph Cafasso

Good morning. Today we hear from Jesus in Matthew’s Gospel about how if we listen to what He has to tell us we can have marriages that will last. If His words, His teachings are at the center of our lives all the fury of the secular storms about us will not impact our marital relationships. Even as we read these words there are those who make efforts at destroying the foundation of marriage and family. There is legislation before Congress that attempts to undermine family life as God intended it to be, and healthy family life is the foundation of this society. We must remember the words of Blessed Pope John Paul II that “A nation goes the way that the family goes.” Jesus reminds us that if we keep Him at the center of our marriage it will be like building our marital house on rock, it will serve as a solid foundation. “Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.” In marriage we find that love, love based upon a true gift of self, serves as those rocks that form the foundation for our marriage and Christ’s love for us serves as the mortar that binds it all together. Make a great day!

Today we recall the good life, gifts, and works of Saint Joseph Cafasso.

  1. If couples are having a marital problem a marriage counselor in Denver could be a great help to solve their problem.
